Wax New braunfels Concert reviews
We might have seen Maynard perform last night.
In 1998, my husband and I were sold counterfeit tickets to Ozzfest in NC when we were teenagers, the show was sold out. We have never seen Wax live. Later in the evening when the will call tickets went on sale we had no money to buy the tickets because we spent it all on the fakes. We spent the show outside the gates, terribly disappointed. Fast forward to 2026, I bought the tickets as a 10 Year wedding anniversary gift for my husband, so excited to finally get to make up for 1998. My husband and I have been huge fans of Wax since before we met 15 years ago. After the show we both feigned excitement so not to bring each other down, but over pancakes at 2 am the truth came out. The songs could have been played straight off the albums, nothing different or exciting. Maynard, or whoever was on the stage, was a silhouette against a screen, never came into the light. He never spoke one word to the crowd, the only thing he ever said was to acknowledge the guest drummer with a mumbled "thank you ____" (whatever his name was). After it was over he just walked off, lights came up, no encore, no thank you, no good night, nothing. Most disappointing concert I have ever seen.
